Paper cut and rolled
Strips of coloured paper are cut to width and rolled around a needle, one coil at a time. A single pair of earrings is a few dozen coils.
Shaped and set
Each coil is pinched into a petal, a leaf or a disc and glued to its neighbours, then sealed so it survives being worn.
Findings fitted
Hooks and posts are added last, and the pair is checked for weight and balance.
